Jan
Allyson is a professional writer/editor, veteran of both Copley
and Hearst Publishing and author of numerous free-lance articles.
She has lived for a dozen years on California’s North Central Coast,
where she has been involved in hotel management as well as writing.
She has also taught high school English and college level journalism.
Born in the Midwest, Jan moved after
completing her education to Washington, D.C., where she became
Assistant Chief of Special Events at the Pan American Union (General
Secretariat of the Organization of American States). She later
moved to Chicago and finally to the West Coast.
With her children (Stephanie Stacy
of Cambria, CA, and Joseph Allyson of San Clemente, CA) she has
traveled all over Mexico and Central America, and later, with her
grandchildren, has visited a number of European countries. A true
devotee of cruising, she became a principal in a West Coast cruise
agency, leading to extensive travel on the world’s oceans.
Joining
her daughter Stephanie and granddaughter Melissa in forming the
Central Coast Pep Squad, Jan writes the group’s scripts and other
materials and occasionally assumes a role in their lively Pep Rally
presentations before social, service and business organizations.
The trio has collaborated on the first of a five-book fantasy/suspense
series, Alexandra
and the Mystery of the Keys, which emphasizes the
Pep Squad’s upbeat theme. Email
