Collaborating
founders grandmother, mother and daughter came together quite
naturally when the youngest of The Three Geehz (three
generations), Melissa Page decided to write a novel. Knowing
her mother, Stephanie Stacy had been writing for a number of
years, she broached the subject – and Stephanie said she would
do it if her mother,
Jan Allyson (a seasoned journalist) would agree.
Once
the idea became reality, the first of five books in their fantasy/suspense
series began as a long-distance effort via daily emails – and
progressed to bi-weekly editorial meetings. A first draft was
completed in December 2008, and critiques were solicited from
some 50 friends and acquaintances ranging in age from 8 to 85.
With minimal suggestions for revision, the work received abundant
praise.
The
soon-to-be-published first book at last came smoothly into being
as a manuscript. One knowledgeable reader commented: “I’d
never have known three authors were involved if they hadn’t told
me.”
